System Requirements

macOS 13 Ventura or later (macOS 14 Sonoma recommended)
Apple Silicon (M1 or later) recommended for Local Edge AI
Intel Macs supported — Edge AI features may be slower
~600 MB available disk space (plus ~2 GB for Ollama model)
IMAP email account (iCloud, Gmail, Fastmail, etc.)
Ollama not required — Oasis ships with a built-in mock mode for evaluation

Beta software notice. Oasis is in active development. Features may change, and you may encounter bugs. Do not use as your sole email client for critical communications yet. Back up any important emails through your email provider's web interface.

Getting Started

Open the DMG and drag Oasis to Applications

macOS may ask you to confirm opening an app from an identified developer. Click "Open" to proceed.

Add your email account

Go to Settings → Connected Inboxes → Add Account. Enter your IMAP credentials. Your password is stored only in macOS Keychain.

Install Ollama for local AI (optional but recommended)

Download Ollama and run ollama pull llama3.2 in Terminal. Then set AI mode to "Ollama" in Settings → Setup.

Wait for initial sync

Oasis syncs your last 14 days of mail on first launch. This may take a few minutes depending on your inbox volume. Go make a coffee.

Teach the AI your preferences

When the AI miscategorizes an email, tap the category badge to correct it. Oasis learns from your corrections and builds a routing model tailored to you.
